About
I was always going to be a designer… of some sort.
I grew up in Southwell, a small town in Nottinghamshire.
From a young age I loved to draw and design things, so it always felt clear that I would become a designer of some sort. The “some sort” was the unanswered question.
I explored architecture, interior design, and interior architecture because I loved the idea of creating spaces. That still intrigues me, though it was not where I ended up.
After studying an art foundation course, I immersed myself in graphic design, completing a BA in the subject before entering the workforce as a junior designer.
Since then, my career has meandered around the graphic design space. I’ve worked in branding, editorial design, and digital design, learned to code a little, and now work as a UX/UI designer.
One thing that has always been clear to me is that my work needs purpose. I’m not interested in helping someone become a billionaire, but I am interested in creating things that enable people to learn, teach, and find their place in the world.
I’ve worked with a lot of specialist non-profits and currently work for UCAS, supporting people as they find their next step into higher education.
